Barry Cales is the founder of Firefly Hospitality Recruiting and Consulting. Barry has spent 20 years in the hospitality industry working with some of the biggest restaurant brands. His operations experience brings an expertise developed by hiring, training and managing the positions his clients now ask him to recruit for.
Barry started his career with Outback Steakhouse/Bloomin’ Brands as corporate trainer leading to him becoming Proprietor and Joint Venture Partner of his own locations in Hawaii. Recognized as Partner of the Year for his results, his proudest accomplishments were those that resulted in success and development of the people that helped grow the businesses he led. This experience set the foundation for his next step with Hard Rock Cafe, where he led top revenue generating locations in Hawaii and San Francisco. Finally, he led introducing Northern California to Fox Restaurant Concepts’ True Food Kitchen. As General Manager he was instrumental in staffing for two locations and leading the New Store Opening in Walnut Creek. Achieving significant success and awards including General Manager of the Year, Philanthropic Cafe of the Year, and Sales and Marketing Cafe of the year. Barry combines his passion for people and drive for results to create an environment that is still part of those cultures today.

Kenneth Roberts is a Managing Partner in Firefly Hospitality Recruiting and Consulting. He started out his career in hospitality as an Operations Manager for Outback Steakhouse. He then moved into Operations and Recruitment role with Crunch Fitness managing their expansion through the mid-west. In 2003, Kenneth and Nadia Roberts opened up Interior Talent, a specialized recruitment for the Architecture, Design and Manufacturing industries. Over the last 14 years this firm has developed into a sector leader working with an elite list of global clients that include hotel and restaurant groups, global design firms and national showrooms.

Dorothy has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality arena.
She began the hotel industry in Sales and Marketing for Hilton Corporation after attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She has been formally trained and certified in Hilton and Marriott corporate programs. Dorothy gained insight and expertise into all areas of hospitality by also directing operations and sales departments in various venues and hotel types. Her leadership skills and team building abilities have brought her hotels to exceed high revenue goals. Dorothy has a hospitality background encompassing various locations and working with leaders of countries and fortune 100 CEO’s. She has experience opening new hotels, working with PIP’s (property improvement plans), contract negotiations, market segmentation, financial analysis, management structure, just to name a few areas of her vast and diverse experience. She is driven to assist hospitality companies to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
Dorothy has received numerous awards for outstanding performance and top sales recognition’s. She likes to think “outside the box” because her experience has shown her that the hospitality business is anything but predictable. She offers professionalism, financial knowledge, hospitality expertise and dedication to all her clients.
